I've been following the events in Michigan with great interest. It seems likely that Edwards supporters and Obama supporters together voting for uncommitted could possibly derail Clinton's assumed win in Michigan.
So who supports this? Well, pretty much every Democrat in Michigan.
Some electeds as well as bloggers and newspapers from Michigan weigh in below the fold, and on their behalf, I'd like to ask Kos to post about what Democrats who don't have a candidate in Michigan really should do: Vote Uncommitted.
Two supporters of U.S. Sen. Barack Obama announced today that they will produce and air campaign advertisements urging voters to cast "uncommitted" ballots in Michigan's Democratic Presidential primary on Tuesday.
U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Detroit, and Detroit City Councilwoman Monica Conyers said they are acting because of the failure of state and national leaders of the Democratic Party to salvage a consequential primary for voters in Michigan.
"Democratic voters have been disenfranchised, indeed had their vote rendered meaningless, by not being able to vote for viable Democratic candidates because of Democratic party rules that evade reality," said Monica Conyers. "We urge Democratic party voters to cast a ballot for uncommitted if the candidate of their choice, such as Senator Barack Obama, is not on the ballot."....
Radio advertisements will begin running as soon as today, Riddle said, and the Conyerses also hope to run advertisements on television.
The cost of the advertising will likely be between $15,000 and $25,000, Riddle said.
John and Monica Conyers: Vote Uncommitted
You cannot write-in "John Edwards" on the ballot. Write-ins will not be counted. The only candidates on the ballot or Clinton, Dodd, Biden and Kucinich. Biden and Dodd dropped out of the race the night of the Iowa caucus. Kucinich is not likely to reach the 15% vote total to receive delegates from Michigan. I believe Hillary will campaign here after the New Hampshire primary in order to save her campaign from complete collapse. She wants a headline "Clinton Recovers and Wins Michigan" -- that was the plan all along if she didn't win Iowa. So, Edwards and Obama supporters need to unite in Michigan and all vote Uncommitted in the Democratic Primary so we can knock Hillary out of the race and make this a contest between two candidates who want to bring some sort of change to America.
Do not vote in the Republican Primary. It is far more important that we have a strong nominee, so Hillary must not recover in Michigan.

U.S. Sen. Carl Levin and state Democratic Party Chair Mark Brewer said Michigan Dems can still have an indirect say in the nominating process if they check the "uncommitted" box on the ballot. State law prohibits write-ins for candidates who have not authorized write-in campaigns; Obama, Edwards and Richardson have not.
If "uncommitted" draws at least 15 percent of the vote in a congressional district, delegates not bound to any candidate could be sent to the national convention, possibly enabling Obama and Edwards supporters to play a role in the nomination.
"You can't afford not to vote in Michigan," Levin said. "It's critically important to vote to have impact on the delegates going to (the national party convention)."
Detroit News
Since neither Senator Edwards nor Obama have their names on the Michigan ballot (but Hillary left hers when everyone else removed theirs), a effort is underway to thwart Clinton grabbing all the delegates.

So that's why I will be going to my precinct, say I am voting Democrat, and voting "uncommitted" on Tuesday Jan. 15th. If you support Edwards or Obama, that is the only way to send a message for change, a message to the Party to get its act together, and take a step forward away from the grinding partisanship and personality bickering that would be the hallmark of a Hillary Clinton presidency.
